Weirder and weirder The new series with the new Barnaby has gone from presenting cosy and comfortable whodunnits with stereotyped village characters and great scenery to positively weird plot lines with totally unbelieveable people. The new Barnaby does not seem have the personal qualities that would have promoted him to his rank, while his wife is just appalling. Thank God for dear old Jones - and I DO like the dog. Not bad 1 This series is a classic. the acting is very average and storyline's predictable, but i guaranttee that a lot of people will miss it when its gone. John Nettles acting is cold, cynerical as a man who had been investaging murder all his life would become. no emotion, means that when he shows emotion the change will be sharpely contrasted and well contrasted. He is a reserved character, he has to be. after all he is playing a character who is professional, i.e. reserved. It is a series that is classic to our culture as a country. Not great but we find it entertaining anyways. Why do people think its on TV still if people think its rubbish?? In short it is a great series and one that should be treasured by the nation. Midsomer Murdered I don't believe it! What an absolute farce. For "oblong" read "pear-shaped" I've never seen such awful acting in my life. Has the new Barnaby had Botox? he has no expression at all. Gone downhill Although the murders are as obscure as ever, Jones and Dr Bullard's characters have been changed to be thick and rude. Not enjoying this series as much as the old ones. Even if the old Barnaby was still here, the change in the others would have made it less enjoyable.
