Reply to john3110 Ignorant, ill informed disinformation post in a guise to promote nuclear.
Hydro, Solar and wind generated power is utterly sustainable after initial investment.
The powers that be do not want cheap electricity, they want expensive electricity generated by oil, gas & coal powered generation plants.
They want to keep everyone reliant on fossil fuels (Oil mainly) so they can control the Global economic situation by the petro dollar! larry the lamb6:32pm Sun 29 Jan
Wind Farms I was dismayed by the feature on wind farms. You need to send a technical expert to discuss pro's and con's with the operators. The operators quote wind farm capacity yetfail to mention actual generation is about 25% of this. Equivalent backup power generation capacity has to be on standby for when the wind speed is outside the turbine operating limits. The cost of wind power is more than £150/megawatthour compared with £100 or less for other types of generation. Our politicians have made a mess of energy policy through ignorance and timidity - we should have decided on nuclear 10 years ago. john31103:01pm Mon 17 Oct
Saddened by failure to research the issue I was very disappointed by the failure to accurately research and report on the impact of wind farms. It appeared that the whole article was taken straight from the PR brochure of a developer rather than being based on the facts.
For example, good for the environment. What about the CO2 cost of their construction? Or the CO2 cost of the inefficient gas powered generators are the only type able to adjust to the fluctuations in power output of a wind turbine.
You mentioned the jobs created by the developers, but failed to mention the job losses in the tourism industry.
You mentioned the profits for landowners. But failed to mention that government policy is to build windfarms on land controlled by the government so the subsidies added to our energy bills are just another form of taxation.
Very very disappointed about such an inaccurate report.

Hel SkeLton was awful in this Sundays's programme Ruby Romford8:27pm Sun 31 Jul
Julia Bradbury She not the type of person wanted on this program, far too full of herself. In Sundays program one would have thought she was the only person ever to been pregnant. Brian W9:08pm Wed 25 May
ampadu Why oh why does Julia Bradbury insist on wearing funny hats at every opportunity!!!!!! Ampadu7:37pm Sun 17 Apr
Get rid of Julia Bradbury Julia Bradbury is totally unsuited to Countryfile. Her aggressive presentation style is more suited to Watchdog!!
Fashion jackets are all she seems to bring to the programme. Elie is so much more relaxed and comfortable with the countryside.
Please, please can we get rid of Julia Bradbury??

We love Cranes I see that cranes are being reintroduced to Somerset. We live in France and it is a wondrous thing to see the migration of these birds.
I would be interested to know if the birds that are being introduced to Somerset
will be expected in the end to migrate too? Carodol7:13pm Sun 6 Feb
Wentworth Castle Could your presenters get their facts correct please. Wentworth Castle is on the outskirts of Barnsley not Sheffield. It's in the Barnsley Borough but Sheffield is approximately ten miles away. keith t9:21pm Mon 31 Jan

why? why would you even watch this? Ashliemx7:19pm Sun 24 Oct
ROMANS INTRODUCED BUNNIES NOT NORMANS ref the programme broadcast Sunday 10th October 2010.
I am amazed that we would get a so-called 'expert' on native species claiming that rabbits were brought to Britain in the 12th century. See http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1487787/Romans-introduced-the-rabbit.html which confirms what most of the audience know i.e. that rabbits came with the Romans if not before.
The problem with such carelessness is that then the audience begin to wonder what else is misinformation. Sorry. You ought to run a correction on the programme too. HisNibs7:18pm Sun 10 Oct
Why isn't Countryfile online? Why can't I watch Countryfile on BBC iPlayer anymore? I adore that show. Dusty8:48am Tue 28 Sep
Julia Bradbury and Matt Smith These 'Blue Peter' type presenters spoil Countryside. Why can't we have people with cred like Adam and Ellie. At least they can speak properly! exburt7:42pm Sun 19 Sep
Wales Why not turn it into a giant car park? Telly Venables12:32am Fri 30 Jul
Much better now Now that Julie Bradbury and Matt Baker present most of it, it is much more watchable. It is more interesting and is more appealing to the younger generation (i.e me) I think when it was just John Craven presenting it, it was very boring but with the new presenters the show has had a burst of life. Fantastic show. Jason8:29pm Sun 27 Jun

Ruined Can't watch this at 1am sinxce the screen is half size with that irritating sign-language woman tdominating the picture. Why don;t deaf people just press 88 and read the subtitles? Otherwise these should have some of the spare freeview channels allocated to them. Common sense.1:12am Fri 29 Jan

Julia is Hot He'd not say no. Jenny6:11pm Sun 29 Nov
good link the new format works well to link the general public with our country side. the presenters help bridge that gap, after all its not called farming today or stuffy little country village weekly is it? berty B1:02pm Sun 29 Nov
The old presenters Please bring back Tom and Charlotte and not Julia. The previous presenters had a real connection with the countryside. Julia in particular does not and comes across quite agressive. The BBC must stop getting rid of 'real' presenters because of age or that they don't consider them to be 'eye candy'. disenchanted5:59pm Tue 3 Nov
JuliaBradbury Julia is a breath of fresh air to Countryfile. Shes a fab presenter, prob the best on TV, really knows what shes talking about, loves what she does and is so enthusiastic! This all shows in the programmes she is involved in. I love the whole of Countryfile, its intresting and educational, especially love The Farm, but Julia is the reason I keep on watching it! Shes The Best! Big up the JB!!! JodyW5:34pm Mon 24 Aug
